hi there i wanted to know at what point i need to concern myself with the gpu hot spot and memory temps for the gpu, i usually play cyberpunk 2077, but after the new update and driver update ive noticed that cpu and gpu gets a bit hotter now.
usually the gpu is around 62+65c° on gpu temp while on hotspot can reach depending on the situation around 82ish one time it reached to 84 as you can see there but it was for a moment.
cpu gets around 65+ to 70c° or so (ryzen 7800x3d)
ignore the current because im playing something lighter in comparison to cyberpunk 2077.

thanks for your time.

You’re fine.

Unless you’ve broken your video card you don’t need to worry about temperature, your card will manage itself.

thats good to know, but at which point i need to take a concern temps wise for hotspot or gpu memory ? just to get a better grasp of it thats all.

At 84, I'm starting to get gray hair.
Most people start doing it in much younger age.

OP, your temps are completely fine. Concerning temperatures: 83C and hotter on the GPU die; 95C and hotter on VRAM; 85C and hotter on CPU; 95C and hotter on VRM (any VRM). Hotspot delta IDEALLY never goes past 20C but sub 30 is acceptable (e.g. 70C avg, 99C hotspot isn't great but it's not dangerous). It usually means your cooling is mounted incorrectly, the contact is loose so some parts of the die aren't cooled as actively as they should be. Hotspot above 110C should also set the alarms.

You also definitely don't want your RAM and SSDs running hotter than 65C. HDDs, 55C.

yeah i understand the feeling as well lol.
i wouldnt care much about this topic if the gpu situation wasnt annoying as it is right now with scalpers and paper launches, plus tbh the 50 series is not worth it i rather wait for 60 series gpu.
therefor my reason to ask about this particular information.

Just replace your thermalpads and paste with better stuff

Fyi all card makers use budget thermal pads a 1 size solution, they all dry up. The user is concerned and should just put better 1s on to ease their mind.

I would say you are probably doing ok considering the ambient temperature difference between you're location and mine :)

I am 47 and the transformation is almost complete. I bypassed grey and went straight to white. Dammit.

@eidairaman1, it will cost some effort. There's no "one size fits all" situation, OP needs to learn what thickness is ideal for their exact GPU and possibly learn how to disassemble this GPU correctly (no idea if they have respective experience). It also costs money and time.

I'm not disagreeing with you, it's just taxing and not even SNAFU at this moment.

the one thing ive changed in other gpus before has been the thermalpaste, and thats it never touched thermal pads.
if it matters i have a rtx 4070 asus dual

I replaced the paste on my 4070Ti with a Thermalright Heilos pad. I think it works pretty well..

The operating temperature of the GDDR6X D8BZC Micron memory is from 0C to +95C. Enough to outlast the shortage of 60 series without changing the pads.
Rather nice to know, thank you for the info

Kept at 80ish degrees, they can work basically forever. GPUs generally become too weak or too old (lacking features) long before they physically die.

Yeah those run HOT

My Asus Dual didn't get that hot but again I use a Asus AP201 mesh case no fancy tempered glass this also helps a lot with temps ;)

I have a lian LI air mini 011, should be pretty good for air flow I would assume.

Yeah depending on your fan configuration, I used FanControl by Rem0o with a custom fan curve for my dual cpu fans, gpu fans and the one at the back set to anything over 65C the fans should go higher in speed to keep cool but I never really heard any noise even playing Indiana Jones and The Great Circle on my setup in December noise wasn't really bad.

Right now I am using my older Sapphire Radeon RX 590 Nitro+ Special Edition gaming Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus and Sapphire did a really great job on this card I can't even hear the fans at max 1440p settings.

Your temps are fine. Perfectly within specs and expectations.

Just replace your thermalpads and paste with better stuff
That could be helpful. Not critical in this user's case but any improvement is a good thing.

It's great stuff. To summarize:

1. Those temps are fine.
2. Hotspot can go into the 110s degrees C. Yours is nowhere near that. This is a worst case scenario and it is the hottest temperature measured in the entire GPU core.
3. Memory junction temperatures are well within acceptable. Bearing in mind, that this is also a worst case scenario, the hottest temperature detected throughout the full array, so hottest area of the hottest chip. In reality, this is significantly lower overall and when averaged. Unless this measurement exceeds 105 degrees C, it is well within specification.
4. Card is new, thermal pads on the memory and VRM are gonna be in great shape for a few years still. Do not replace them needlessly.
5. It is rare, but TIM pumpout can occur on a new card. However, it doesn't look like yours have seen that issue since temps are fine.

Conclusion: Your GPU does not need to be serviced. There is nothing to worry about.

I also get about the same temps with my 4070 Dual. You can undervolt it, mine dose 2700Mhz at 950mV and the card will be cooler and quieter.

From my experience everything below 85c in very demanding titles is fine. Temperatures also depends on speed of the fans. If they are at 100% with over 85c - there is a problem. You should always undervolt gpu. Not too much though...50-70mV would do and save you +25 watts.
