hi,

sorry, English is not my native language

I have an RTX 4090 and think I made a mistake. I didn't factor the titan RTX and titan Volta. I forgot about those when i bought the 4090.

The price of titan VOLTA is only around 800-1000 CAD and The titan RTX is at 1000-1200 CAD on ebay. a lot less for what I paid for the 4090.

I'm bit scared for the 12 go of the Volta, my 10 go rtx 3080 was not enough.

how do they two card compare to the 4090 ? i imagine the titan VOLTA a bit less powerful than the 4090 and the titan RTX a bit more powerful. i wonder if the rtx titan can do RT overdrive.

Both cards are substantially weaker the Titan RTX is only barely faster than a 2080ti and the Volta is even slower.

Nvidia hasn't made a Titan class card for 2 generations they got replaced by the 90 class cards.

titan RTX a bit more powerful

IDK where you are getting that, but as someone that got rid of a titan RTX for a 4090 they arent even in the same class. The 4090 destroys it.

If you want the best GPU out there then you got it right going for 4090
Both Titan RTX and Titan V are less than half the gaming power of 4090.

sorry!

I though the RTX titan was higher tier than the 90 class I didn't know the 90 were the new titan. there are not a lot of review of the titan RTX. the 4090 is my first high end gpu. My previous GPUs were high-mid range GTX980Ti -RTX 2080- RTX 3080 10 go,

There are mixed assumptions here which shows that you might not know.

Titans ARE a higher tier than 90 series cards. HOWEVER there has not been a Titan for the CURRENT GPU generation and there likely will not be.

When you are talking about Titans you need to know which GPU generation (code/family name) the conversation is about. You cant go by the "RTX" in the name.

As for the rest of your statement. There is no proof "90s" are the new titan and no one ever said that. Infact there isnt even evidence of that. "Titans" were more than just a name they were the fully unlocked silicon chips. the 4090 for example, is NOT fully unlocked. That honor goes to the Ada RTX 6000 quadro.

FP64 is the only thing lacking that the Volta has.

2080 Ti = RTX Titan. The Volta was a stopgap between Titan XP and the next (20) series. It technically isn't even a gaming card.

This is wrong on pretty much every account, lol.
CEO Jensen Huang states here:
"Several years ago we started building the Titan...There is clearly a need for a giant GPU available all over the world. So we made a giant Ampere. Ladies and gentlemen, the RTX 3090" Implying that the 90 series *does* in fact replace the Titan SKUs.

And no, not all Titans are fully unlocked either. The Titan X (Pascal) not to be confused with the Titan Xp only had 3584 Cuda cores of the GP102 die, sharing the same die with the 1080 Ti. Only the 2017 released Titan Xp had the full fat 3840 Cuda core die.

Furthermore, you're wrong yet again about the RTX 6000 Ada having the full die. The AD102 has 18432 Cuda cores, the 6000 Ada has 18176. There is NO GPU out right now that uses the full AD102 die.

Side note, the Titan V crushes ANY GeForce GPU in FP64 calculations. Including the 4090. Whether or not you think that's niche, is up to you.
