Is it generally safe to do? I have 5600 cl36 and when I set it to 6000mhz in BIOS, I didn't encounter any issues.
Perhaps I don't know something, so wondering, is it worth it? Am I reducing RAM longevity or maybe risking overheating or stability issues or anything like that?
System as in system specs here.

It's not a major jump, so its entirely possible.

How did you change the settings and what is your system specs? Can't see on the phone.

I set it to Expo II in BIOS and then simply selected where it said 5600mhz and set it to 6000mhz.
My system is ryzen 7600x on a b650 proart board from asus.
2x16gb ram sticks from corsair vengence.
Running cinebench now with 6000mhz. So far flawlessly stable. Preliminarily i see the upcoming result is above the previous one so there may be a tiny performance increase. As expected i guess.

The benefit appears to be insignificant. Atleast in cinebench r23.
14876 points for 6000mhz
14859 points for 5600mhz
Less than 1% - basically within natural point fluctuation.

You won't see a big increase for R23.

Download and run memtest5 for a stability check. Im not concerned about damaging anything, because you didn't change the DRAM voltage.

Does everything look good please?
