Hello,

I recently bought the Gigabyte RX 5700 XT GAMING OC.
I had some driver issues after inserting it into my PC which is to be expected from AMD, but I managed to get everything working after all.
There is one more issue left, that I can't find a solution for.
The HDMI port doesn't seem to work correctly, I can't get a signal on my TV.
Both my monitor and my TV worked with my GTX 970 and with onboard graphics but right after installing the driver I couldn't get a signal anymore after POST.
I am able to enter the BIOS however but the signal is lost during boot.
If I connect my TV when I am logged in to Windows sometimes the TV has a signal for a split second and then it goes black again.
After my new monitor with Displayport arrived I thought it was just a problem with my old monitor but now I experience the same issue on my TV with all of my HDMI cables.

So it seems to be a driver related problem or maybe defective hardware. I searched for AMD GPU users with the same issues, most ended up buying a RTX 2070 Super apparently.

Does anybody know what to do?
I'm kind of stuck here, thinking about returning the card as well
:/

Windows 10 Pro (Clean Install after removing the old GPU), i7 4790K @4,6 Ghz, Gigabyte RX 5700 XT GAMING OC, updated BIOS

What HDMI version you got in your TV and what version cable are you using?

I experienced issues with computers and this in the past.
If I remember connectly GTX 970 is running HDMI 2.0 and RX 5700 XT got HDMI 2.0b so it could be your cable if it's really old.

I know that HDMI 2.0 to 2.0b doesn't seem like a lot but they introduced HDR at 2.0a and at 2.0b HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) but they are all 4K@60Hz:

and welcome to TPU and fine you lists a little specs in your post but you can fill out System Specs since it looks like you do known what hardware components you are using.

Try certified HDMI 2.0 cable and try different color format settings (RGB/YCbCr).

If its LG or Samsung HDTV, name the HDMI input as "PC".

I actually forgot and at the same part remember the naming part with my 2 LG smart tv's but I never really use HDMI anymore since I got a Plex server.

Hi, I am using a HDMI 2.0b cable for the connection to my Samsung UHD TV.I also tried some older cables, not sure which version that made no difference.
The cable worked perfectly before the GPU change.

After resetting my BIOS, reseating my RAM and reconnecting the power cables to the graphics card I can get a connection to my TV again.
However it only works in "Extend" mode if I choose "Duplicate" oder "Screen 2 only" I will lose the signal.
Also in Extended mode it is set to a Full HD resolution, I will lose the signal if I set 4K or any other resolution. After a few seconds the signal is there again, but it is set back to Full HD.
Really weird, do you have any ideas?

I would suggest running DDU in safe mode and clean out all AMD and Nvidia drivers and install the latest AMD driver here from TechPowerUp.

I did the same I went from a GTX 1080 Ti last week to a Sapphire Radeon RX 590 Nitro+ Special Edition and then to a Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Pulse and I ran DDU both times.
