AM4 has been end of the line for a long time now. 5600X3D was the only surprise, but even that came honestly a lot later than it should've/was rumored to. There really is no reason to be putting any money into AM4 at this point in the year. Good DDR5 is so widespread and cheap right now.

AMD can cobble together whatever technology demonstrator they want in their labs. Think they showed more than one of them off to outlets like GN, multiple times. They're just testing products. 7900X3D and 7950X3D (and 7945HX3D) are the result of those efforts.

Agree. The only thing we need anymore is that AM5 boards would be cheaper, that's where AM4 still shines when it comes to building a cheaper system.

well, DDR4 is twice cheaper currently than DDR4. but yeah, ddr5 became a little cheaper & faster, so for mid-to-large-budget ddr5 all the way.

ddr4 also "shines" still. ddr4 kits are right twice cheaper than ddr5 rn.

I was stoked to see a 5900X3D.

Now I could not care less.

And if they made one, I would not buy it for the simple fact that you are not allowed to overclock it.

Not only that, but seeing how the modern dual CCD X3D is made.. no thanks.

According to interview by GN, AMD tried different settings including both 3D cache on both CCDs. I think it was very difficult or taking too much time

The clocks were a lot lower too.
