HI guys... im new around here and just wanted to congratulate you for your great site!

hope u can help me with this question... i bought just last saturday this lap, a samsung rf410... its pretty good deal for a low budget, with a core i3 330m, 4gb ram and nvidia 330m graphics... but well, my question is...

i like playing mmorpgs, like wow, aion, pwi, even dota... i started playing with the new lap and, just for checking, i monitored the temps from cpu and gpu, and the cpu got up to 82C max, being normally at low 70s... is that too hot for a core i3-330m on a nes? samsumg laptop?? i am investigating about it and seems like it's still not close to the max (105 i think for intel) but i just bouthg the lap this weekend and its on a laptop stand with a fan (a cheap stand but still better than nothing i think)...
oh and the gpu was maximum 71c, so i think that one is safe hehe

thanks in advance!

welcome to TPU
coz this is a laptop just make sure you leave space between the table and your laptop so the hot air could escape easily
btw how long you play it? it would affect the heat that generated
i guess you lack of cold air so the temp raise like that, you could consider add on fan to help your laptop temp lower

thanks! :D

i do have a chap stand with a small (but again, better than nothing) fan, that you can "adjust" the position...

about the game play, i tried not to do it for long periods... max a couple of hours before i rest for a while.... i think that the max temps, around the 81-82c, are reached after a while playing, but then the fans start running and thats when i check and can see that the current temps are about 70-72... so i think that the cpu does reach those low 80s temps, but are usually around th 70s cause the fans always start to work when the lap gets hotter...at least that is my impression, cause i never see as "current" the max temps, i always just get them registered but when i check, the currents are lower

The max for a Core i3 Mobile CPU is 90°C. You should be fine with 82°C, since the fan will spin up and keep temps manageable.

yep, it seems that is what happens, cpu gets alittle over 80 and fans start working to lower the temp :p... thanks for the help guys!

No problem :) any time :)

use something like Zalman NC 1000 when gaming.

It wont cool your cpu down to 30'c but it will definitely knock a good 5-7'c off your maximum temps

I have one of these myself and it works great.

it can be a little pricey. I paid £20 for mine but its well worth it as my laptop gets extremely hot and uncomfortable when gaming.
