Hello,
I want to use my GPU under Linux, but I have some problems with it. The Linux Nvidia driver clocks the GPU aggressive, with makes it running hot.
The fans are constantly turning on and off because of that in combination with the zero-fan mode. Even manually adjusting the fan speed in the driver isn’t working properly because of this mode.
ASUS once released in 2017 a BIOS update for this GPU with adds the mode. I wonder if I could flash a BIOS without this feature. I have found these:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191463/asus-gtx1060-6144-160929
The thing is that these IDs (device and subsystem) with my card don’t match.
My question is, is it still safe to flash one of them even though the IDs don’t match?
You can find a screenshot of GPU-Z in the attachment.
Thanks in advance.
