For some reason IPv4 Netbios was ON I dont know what did it tbf, the default on modern installations of 10 and 11 is off. Doing a network reset that is found in the settings app doesn't set this to default off. After several AI chats and google serches for hours today it was Copilot that told me to check Netbios after trying multiple networking things

First time poster, As the title says, this issue is driving me crazy as I cant find a solution and I really dont want to reinstall Windows.

So some weeks ago Iam start having bad download speeds but not enough to notice I though my ISP was being bad, then I started to download some games in both gamepass and steam that used to saturate my WIFI 5 connection but now barely can give 1/3 of the speed.

I had another Windows Install where I do work mostly and I noticed my Internet was snappier then I tried steam and the downloads were again fast and saturating my Wifi 5 connection. Back to the gaming/general usage Windows instalation I went to my VM and ofc the downloads were slow then I set the network to Bridge and behold the speeds are fast again so It isnt a hardware issue its something in software, as I said both the Xbox app and Steam that do saturate my WIFI speeds downloads dont anymore, downloads via Browser Both Firefox and Edge give same slow speed samething in WSL using curl.

Both windows have the same windows updates latest version to date and same WIFI intel drivers, so Iam ruling out versions of OS/drivers issues.

I tried everything reinstall the WIFI drivers, reseting network settings, use DHCP, fixed IP, diferent DNS, tuning on/off IPV6 nothing makes it fast, I reset router settings aswell the machine hostname aswell maybe it had something related to my IP adress on on the router but nothing, also sfc and DISM scans, malware scans with both Defender/Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro, removing all running programs and services that arent needed, also reseting Windows Firewall

Atm I cant use ethernet, I can fix by reinstall windows but I want to avoid and mostly Iam really curious to find what is doing this, Iam handy with PCs I work in this and mostly on enterprise servers but I also know windows very well but the fact that 1 of the Windows install is giving bad speeds and I cant find the issue is killing me.:) I do suspect is some tweak I made but I dont remenber.

Any help is appreciated very much if you want to figure this stuff out with me.

You say you started having bad download speeds, but not enough to notice.

If not bad enough to notice, how did you come to realize they were bad?

Sadly, you told us nothing about this computer or even what version of Windows. Please list your system specs or fill out TPU System Specs so we understand what HW and OS we are dealing with.
