Sandisk USB Flash Drive went into write-protected mode

So I just bought a 32 GB Sandisk USB Flash Drive and I formatted it to NTFS like I always do but then after trying to copy some data to it about an hour later Windows tells me that it's write-protected. Has anyone seen this happen before? What can I do about it? I can't format it, Windows tells me that I can't do it.

Microcenter took the drive back and I bought a Samsung USB flash drive instead, I wasn't going to take any chances that it was a bad batch sent to Microcenter. The drive is fast, even with BitLocker enabled.
