Mostly want to open a more recent discussion on what can and cannot be done to amputate the Meta from the Quest 2/3, as while the hardware and more importantly the price is tempting for when I finally move away from the dinosaur Index, I place very little faith in Facebook/"Meta" respecting my privacy or making any effort to actually protect/anonymize the data they overzealously collect at all.
This discussion should be focused around isolating the Quest on the network and preventing it from gathering telemetry/usage data, completely removing the requirement for a Facebook/Meta account in the first place, converting the Quest into a 'dumb' tethered headset, and anything along those lines.
