When I change the Sata mode in the BIOS to NCQ I get artifacts with Need for speed shift, even with the card running @ stock speeds:confused:

If I set the Sata mode back to legacy IDE in the BIOS there is no problem and there are no artifacts...:wtf::confused:

That sounds rather odd, as graphics and storage have little to do with eachother. Does the same happen when the system runs at stock?

that does indeed sound like a very strange issue, like Dan has said

what operating system is this under, and what mode was set when you installed windows?

Yes the same thing happens at stock speed(4870), first I thought there's a temperature problem but it's not, weird enough it IS the BIOS Sata mode setting causing this!

When I installed Windows, the Sata mode had always been at "Legacy IDE" mode, but since all my HDD's support NCQ I tried the NCQ mode, but it gives me artifacts !

you're normally supposed to set it before installing windows, and not change it without reinstalling.

While you've got an odd symptom, that may be the cause.

Ok I must say that all runs fine on "Legacy IDE" mode but it's just strange to me, since it has nothing to do with the graphic card or PCI E.

it does have something to do with running drivers and your north/southbridge.

IMO, if you reinstalled windows with AHCI mode enabled you should find it trouble free (that, or we'd end up finding a specific incompatibility with your motherboard and/or its drivers)

For now I just let it run @ Sata Legacy IDE mode, I don't re-install Windows ATM, but when I do I will set it to AHCI.
Thanks for the replies.
