i bought a new sata dvd rom and 2 sata hard drives and im tryin to install vista home preimum as a fresh install
i config the hhd in bios to raid0 and after the reset there isnt any drives showing in bios
can some one please help with the dvd that flashes during the post... thank you ppl

you need to launch the raid controller setup, it's most often seperate from bios, i.e. ctrl+f4 after post. setup your raid 0 there, then load raid drivers as vista installation setup starts.

i hear ya but im startin from scratch
i install dvd rom on sata plug #3 and 2 80gig sata hhd on plug one and two
i enter bios and set up raid 0 and thats fine till bios wants to reboot
after that its scanning drives and it kicks me back into bios and the sata drives dont show up
its only when i click load defaults that all the drives show up
when i check hhd raid 0 its functional but the dvd flashes and prompts me to hit ctrl f
it only shows the 2 hhd but not the dvd rom
i have the mobo driver disk with the raid driver but it wont load while trying to install the o/s
it says cant find driver?
any thoughts?

i hooked up my old hard drive and soon as it booted up vista it loaded up the driver to the sata dvd rom.

Raid drivers worked automatically for me under vista.
I needed only to install them in XP.

Maybe you should "makedisk" on another computer using the mobo cd and another floppy disk or cd.

i tryed on my laptop but it wouldnt reconise the disk?
so i couldnt make a copy

You just need to put the drivers that should have came wiht your motherboard on a USB Drive. Thats all I did.

how do i mack a copy onto a thumb drive? and no the disk is fine its im running xp on a olllll lap top and my rig is vista so it wont see the disk
i have my ol hd in and the system is fine till i select raid in bios then dvd flashes and prompts me to hit ctrl7

I just set my RAID 0 configuration for my first time like 3 days ago, all I did was copyed all the driver both 32 bit and 64 bit for both the ATI Controler and Marval Control on to a USB from the dvd that came with my MB, if you can't find them on a cd or dvd that came with it or don't have one get one off the internet or thier support site. THen when winows detected both HD's as one I just loaded the Marval 32 bit driver and formated my HD's and continued on with my setup.

do you have 2 raid controllers on your board? if so, try the other one...

look up your mobo specs or check bios for that one. most boards have 4 ports by 1 controller (usually on the southbridge) and another 2 or 4 ports via a 2nd 3rd party controller. i don't think i have seen a board that didn't ahve raid on both...

Yeah asus for example.
My board has Intel and J micron raid ports.
But sometimes if you disable one the other gets disabled because it is a controller for those ports. I use intel raid.
