I'm also having problems with SFC. It checks the files but can't fix all of them. I also tried offline with Windows boot and it keeps on saying that i have to reboot the system because something is pending to do its job (and i know there is no such thing because i did a reboot several times). It seems that i'll have to either do a clean install or replace the files by hand. I don't like either option...

Have you tried "sfc /PurgeCache" and then rebuild it? Your cache could be corrupt.

there is no problem in chkdsk I've checked When I select command prompt and sfc scannow from f8 and repair.. it shows that a reboot is required for pending repair and pending renames folder in winsxs is full of files.. what should I do??
