Should I Be concerned with temps?

I have a rig with an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz,(not overclocked and at stock voltage) and its being cooled by a Antec Kuhler H2O 620 Liquid Cooling System.

When i first start my computer and or its idle, browsing the web the temps are about 27°C to 30°C, then under full load or playing a game it gets to anywhere between 42°C or 50°C. This is my first AMD rig and my first with any sort of liquid cooling. Personally i though 42°C was ok but when i start seeing 50°C it makes me a little uncomfortable.

Am i paranoid or are those acceptable temps?

Is that from the motherboard CPU temperature sensor?
Or is that actual Core temperature?

If it is Core temperature, then something is wrong.
If it is CPU temperature, then that sounds OK for a Kuhler h20 620.

I should of specified, The temps im getting are from core temp program.

It's probably fine, your max operating temp is somewhere between 55C to 62C keep in mind when AMD finds the max op temp they give us a temp that's a little lower.

Nothing wrong with being vigilant when it comes to heat in a PC. Have you cleaned the inside of your case lately? The higher temps may be due to something as simple as having dust bunnies disturbing the airflow.

Ive literally cleaned my case every Sunday since i built it, there is no dust in there lol, the other environmental thing I could think of is. I do have a small room and with a pc and tv on with the door closed it can get a little warm, but I don't see how warm air could be an issue when it being water cooled.

I'm using a 1055T with a Cosair H50 and get around the same temps while crunching/gaming. It's nothing to worry about.

Thats not entirely true... your cpu can only be at min within a Kuhler, a few degrees within ambient room temp. If your room temp goes up 10 degrees, you can bet your cpu will too. It obviously isn't exact... but there definately is a direct correlation for ambient temp vs cpu core with watercooling.

my 1090T has been running @ 75 degress @ 4.2 ghz..... its still alive



an amd rep has said these chips can handle 90+ without damage.

You need to specify if you mean cpu temp or core temp, if it's the latter you need to add some 10c to the figure since the Thuban sensors are off by that much roughly.

Those temps are fine- keep an eye on the VRM and northbridge temps... with the water cooling unit you lose the fan assist of the air cooler blowing air over them. If your VRMs and/or northbridge start running warmer you may have to add a fan blowing on them (antec spot cool or well placed 80 or 120 mm fan in the case)
