System Name The Sparing-No-Expense Build
Processor Ryzen 5 5600X
Motherboard Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Wifi II
Cooling Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black
Memory 32GB: 2x16GB Patriot Viper Steel 3600MHz C18
Video Card(s) NVIDIA RTX 3060Ti Founder's Edition
Storage 500GB 970 Evo Plus NVMe, 2TB Crucial MX500
Display(s) AOC C24G1 144Hz 24" 1080p Monitor
Case Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO White
Power Supply Seasonic X-650 Gold PSU (SS-650KM3)
Software Windows 11 Home 64-bit
I have a build from 2016 with these parts(also in my profile):

i5 4690k 4.3 GHz
Deepcool Gammaxx 400 CPU Air Cooler
Asus Z97-A motherboard
32GB RAM (4x8GB)
NVIDIA RTX 3060Ti reference
Seasonic X650 650W 80+ Gold power supply
970 Evo Plus 500GB NVMe SSD

The 4690k is 6 years old now, so I am looking to upgrade it.

I have a person selling their build with a stock R7 3800x in it.
I am not going to buy the whole thing, but I have quoted him $545 for these parts:

R7 3800x
MSI B450 Tomahawk Max mobo
Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz stick - 1 16GB stick low-profile (CMK16GX4M1E3200C16)
Cooler Master ML240L V2 RGB Liquid CPU Cooler

I'd be willing to pay $80 extra for these:

WD Blue SN550 500GB NVMe SSD
Windows 10 64-bit preinstalled

I am looking to reuse my 3060Ti, my power supply and my 970 Evo Plus SSD(the B450 mobo has only one NVMe slot, so this'll be an extra;
but then I'll have to install my own Windows OS)

I have Windows 7 64-bit installed in my current system which I found out is not compatible with the 3 series(Matisse) Ryzen CPUs.
I could also ask him just for the W10 key and let him keep his SSD, but I haven't talked to him about that. Also, the deal is not confirmed yet.

Is this a good deal? Also, am I missing anything that I should be aware of?

No. It's not worth it. The 3800x is only slightly better at gaming.

You can basically get a 5800x + decent B550 mobo for less than $600, ram is less than $100. AIOs are shit in general and should be avoided.

Windows can be had for $10.

Personally I would wait for Alder Lake and get the i5 8c+6c with a DDR4 platform. That or wait for Zen with 3d cache.

If I decided to buy new, these are the prices:

5800x: $530
B550 mobo(the same as the one I'm getting, but b550 instead of b450): $230
RAM: single 16GB stick: $85, single 8GB stick: $55
AIO cooler(same as the linked one): $100
Windows 10: $115(where are you getting it for $10?!)
