I have a spare 1.5TB 7200.11 that I've never even unsealed and this would be perfect to put it in. I really like the reviews but I've never really done much with NAS or data/video streaming.
Any advice? We have a ton of DVDs that would be nice to be able to stream.
That said, I have an Xbox(1) in our bedroom, would I be able to stream to the xbox from this?

Thanks guys I'd like to get a good convo running about this today as I think it's a great deal for people into NAS.

Having no direct experience with it or the software it runs, I'm just going off my first impression.

+ At $150, it's the cheapest 4-drive NAS I've seen.

- System will need to be shut down and opened to add/remove drives.

- Reviews state that the included software is very limited. EX: Lack of services configuration, doesn't support multiple drives/arrays.

+ It's a basically a PC. Can add video, switch the OS if the included software doesn't suite you, etc.

hmmmm, I run my desktop 24/7 anyway, would I be just as well off to pop my 1.5tb in my desktop and us it for this function?
I'm a NAS/streaming content noob if you haven't noticed lol
