Hey,
Instead of googling around I am asking directly here as a confusion arises bcoz everyone is talking about overclocking i7 7700k(its capacity to overclock, temps, performances etc.etc.).

Below are some things I want to share first to help you guys understand my question-

1. I tried 3 games till now watch dogs 2, resident evil 7 and far cry primal after this new upgrade. Then monitor the system behaviour accordingly.

2. While I played WD2 at 1080p fps was 70-80 at msaa 2x all settings very high I was happy but then I saw that in game setting there is an option of geometric texture level(something like that) which was set to 0% by default, So I turned it to 100% and then msaa off. Still food fps 65-80 but when driving through city fps dropped to 40-55 sometimes.

3. No Issue with RE7 or FCP as I can run those with 1440p without any problem.

4. So, to play WD2 at full like msaa enable and every setting to ultra with reso-1440p. Do I need to overclock my cpu to gain for fps?does it gains more fps noticeably?

My cpu temp at load was 74c at max and 26c at idle, if I overclocked it then I know temp will go further.
Is my mobo is good to overclock it at least 4.9ghz? or my cpu cooler will handle it after overclocking? I mean look at it,i t is not doing well in cooling, coz 74c at max even after cpu cooler.

as far as I know, to gain fps in those games, with all turned on max, thats your GFX holding you back. Try to OC that with afterburner or another programme then see if it isent going to give you the frames you want.

Ok, I will try to OC gpu first with after burner, and with some tweaks with fan control to cool down system or ram boost xmp profile.

from this guide in oc section:

It's easy and straightforward these days, and double-digit improvements are easily obtained, taking a 50 FPS system to 60 FPS+. This is especially important in Watch Dogs 2, which is CPU-bound in some scenes, especially when "Extra Details" is enabled.

but when i look at this i think no use for cpu overclock in watch dogs 2:

So, Overall this is not a right time to overclock my cpu. I should tweak some settings first okay I understand now.
One more question-
1. Does it harm my gpu if I manually set its fan control to 25% always or with some checkpoints??

My cpu temp at load was 74c at max and 26c at idle,

Those CPU are well known for it's heat issue, that said, make sure you have a good cooling system before you start Overclocking.

normally its enough to go down to 4xmsaa from maximum without visual diff

and you can set a fan curve in msi ab so when the gpu hits lets say 80° the fan goes higher

You mean that temp is high under load? So, what should be the temp under load according to you?
How much I care for this? Should I try moving cpu cooler or other fans fan at 100%?
Many other user says 74c under load is common and don't harm anything.

Is Setting fans manually safe for long term using?
I m thinking of setting fan control like this- at 52c-25%, 62c-50%, 70c-80% and above that at full speed.
I was thinking of using that setup for daily basis.

I never said that the temp is high, for a 7700K running at stock 74c is acceptable, what i said was that your temp at stock is 74c at max and you want to OC to 4.9GHz you know that the temp will increase and for sure above 80c+.

you have to try it-watch your temps during gaming and if there is a need you can fine tune it every time.
graphiccards should not have probs running with 80°+ but if it runs colder then you will have higher boost clock.

Oh, now I see.
Yes sure I will upgrade with some water cooler when time comes. For now this air cooler doing its job.
Note:- That 74c temp was there for a moment not constantly at load. Average temp at load is about 64-68c.

normal temp during gaming.

Normal temp during gaming varies with games.
Its 66c for resident evil7, 62-66c for far cry primal and 66-74c while playing watch dogs 2.

That sounds better.

Btw, you shouldn't pay that much attention at what i say, i think in a different way about temps.
