As the title says. I'm thinking about if there is a safe limit to overclocking my igpu and cpu. I just want to play some casual games but some games won't even reach 30fps in low settings like GTA 5. and also I have stock cooler for ryzen 3 cpus. my cpu reaches 62C at max load in games in stock so is it normal? and If I overclock it what Issues i will face and will it be worth it for some 5-10fps? I don't have a gpu atm that's why I am asking. I have:
Ryzen 3 2200G
TUFF Gaming Asus A520M Plus Wifi (Motherboard)
XPG Z1 8gb 2400Mhz (1 stick)
EVGA 500W Plus 80 PSU
and Samsung 840 Pro 128gb SSD.

I think you'd get more benefit from getting a faster dual channel ram kit somthing like 3000 CL15 2x8GB than trying to OC.

Just curious but kindly tell me how can more ram helps me in this situation. mostly games doesn't lag for me.

and as I heard this cpu only support max 2933Mhz speed and I can't find that good ram in my area.

I can buy more ram but not a gpu as gpus are too much expensive here.

Because running 1 stick halves the bandwidth for the cpu/igpu.

You can gain quite a bit by ocing the igpu to around 1.6ghz but I still think you'll be bandwidth limited running 1 stick of 2400mhz ram

2933 is just the standard spec up to 3200 shouldn't be an issue unless you're trying to run 4 dimms even adding a second identical 2400mhz stick would be helpful.

If you do oc just make sure your cpu fan is set to run near 100% to deal with the extra heat.

It is true that two stick can increase FPS in games.

Got it I'll buy ram next. :)

and yes according to todays prices which gpu can I easy get between 150-200$?

I doubt you'll be able to get a meaningful upgrade for sub $200.... The GT 1030 performs maybe slightly better than what you have and sits around 150 usd so definitely not worth it. Everything else is grossly overpriced in the low end.

Yes that's why I asked for oc at the first message :( but i think getting more ram will be better. And is there a certain ram brand i should choose? Is XPG a good brand in terms of life and peeformance?

If you plan to pair it with your existing stick you'll want to get one with identical timings and MTs. Regardless of brand you're either getting Samsung, Hynix, or micron so it usually doesn't matter.

If I was buying a 2x8gb kit on a budget I would probably go with a crucial ballistix kit as they tend to be good value for the money.

XPG is made by adata most likely hynix based kits it's fine.

Got it thankyou so much for helping me. Have a great time. :)

A520 doesn't support overclocking of the 2200g... Or officially support the 2200g at all for that matter.

2 ram sticks would be your best bet at increasing performance. A520 can overclock ram.

Dude just get a RX590, RX 5600XT, or save up for a 5700XT, RX6700...

It will run past 2933 if you just enable XMP/DOCP in bios. Should just be one button.

Yup There is JEDEC speed then there is AMP/DOCP

Consider the fact that in a country like India(Amazon.in) which is near where the OP is the price of a RX 580 8Gb card is (Rs72000) 970USD and most likely to cost more
where he is.

That is easier said than done, You can imagine what something like a 5600XT costs let alone a 5700XT/RX6700.

Despite the fact that China is round the corner there, the US market is completely different from most markets in the rest of the world.

Getting any GPU right now is difficult. However, something like an AMD RX460/560 is generally semi affordable and would still be a large step up in performance versus the integrated Vega 8, especially in its current state with heavily limited memory bandwidth.

If I were the OP, I would sell your current single stick of ram and buy a 2x8gb kit of ram, at least 2933Mhz CL16 or better. Then if that still isn't enough, consider saving for a superior graphics card.
