GTX560Ti is right in the relm of the 6870. Id go for the GTX650Ti boost though.

650 ti boost would be great. Or something that uses less power like the 750ti. Not sure if performance or power usage is preference.

welcome to the Green party and welcome to another untranslatable new word--Sidegrading!!!!!!!!!!!! "Changing mags" would have been equally explicit :)

Stupidest comment if i ever heard one.

Maybe the OP doesnt require that kind of horse power but wants something more upto date or power efficient. Im not sure if this system would bottleneck with more powerful cards. You dont need a 770 to power a 19" monitor

His post seems to say exactly why he wants to upgrade...

Also, don't call people or their posts stupid. You know what road that goes down.

I find this a weird question considering I've been very happy with my 6870s. Is there something in particular that you're trying to accomplish by getting a nvidia card that's just as quick as what you have?

I was in a hurry. I meant why would you not upgrade? And that's stupid? Sense when is too much GPU a problem Mr. 2X680. It might bottle neck his CPU but I'm sure he wont stay with that config for long

the OP asked for SIDEGRADE not UPGRADE

the OP asked for SIDEGRADE not UPGRADE

GTX 560 Ti would be a sidegrade ... but it has similar thermals, acoustics and TDP as GTX 770 ... so Jetster's question is actually valid. Many sidegrade options have been suggested, why not suggest an option that is actually reasonable? I know what OP asked but when you come to TPU, you always get more than you asked for!

Whats your budget for switching to Nvidia? Could you swing a 660? 650Ti Boost?

There's no point in 'sidegrading'. You're just wasting your money or do you like to do that? I don't. Go with a GTX 760 2GB. This is the price/performance king in its class and can be had for as little as
$229 U.S.

haha. im quite suprise with the comments. chill out guys. im just asking the equivalent card. ;) the hd6870 serves me well till this day. juz my hand itchy to try nvidia card coz all my card ive owned is amd/ati. HD4650>HD4850>HD5670>HD5770>HD6750>HD6870. :peace: mybe ill slight upgrade later. currently im eyeing for used ( GTX 650 Ti Boost , HD 7850 (kinda hard to get) , GTX 570 (not likely bcoz of pwer consumption) and GTX 560 Ti )

fyi, im from malaysia. :lovetpu:
