Something a bit different - a signed X800 GTO.

I know nothing about the history of this card unfortunately, except to say, it looks barley used, perhaps only for operation check.

Slim chance I know, but anyone out there know the signature? Or why a card would be signed at all? We dont really get big tech expo's here in New Zealand, so maybe it was done in Europe or the USA. Assuming that is, the signature is noteworthy of course.

Try pming @erek he's our resident GPU collector. If anyone would know or know where to send you he would be your guy.

Is that a reference card or an AIB card? I may check my X800 GT later if it has anything similar. :)

Its a little intriguing... the card also has 3/5 written on it under the red signature. Looks to be written by someone different though. I also find it interesting that a 2005 card looks to have been never used apart from testing by the person who sold it to me. The bracket doesnt even have a mark on it from the screw that would secure it in place... its completely unmarked. Fan and heatsink has never seen dust before, its litterally almost like new apart from the DVI connector from testing.

Probably just tested that it works and then put back to its package, I'd guess.

At this stage I think its possibly an OEM reference. I haven't checked GPU-Z yet to see who the subvendor is.

Are there any manufacturers' graphics in its cooler?

No, its completely bare... it looks like the image below, but mine has the red signature on the silver cover & the other signature is at the 6 pin plug end of the PCB.

I am intrigued. Sweet card btw.

Reference without a doubt what I've seen cards in the last ~18 years. It could be a signature from an ATI employee from back in the day. :)

Looks just like some X700 XT (never released) or X800 XL cards

I've been collecting for over a year now and this is one of the more interesting ones for sure.
Hey yo, welcome to TPU and post something here :)
