Silent performance vs sound of fans??

Hi everybody!)

I have 2 desktops with similar specs, one of them has 3060 (12GB) installed, the other one 3060ti (8GB), when I play some adjusted insta360 footage in 3060ti it generates some noticeable fan sound, when the same footage played in the 3060 computer goes absolutely silent!

Visually there is no difference in performance, and the processors are the same 12700.

I thought that 3060ti is 30% faster and better, even thought I really like the idea of having 4GB more memory in 3060.

Please let me know what you think about this seemingly easier (stronger) performance of 3060, because I take it as 3060 doesn't even need to cool down itself while performing this task.

Thank you!

Has to do with the frame buffer

It may have something to do with the fan profile used by each card.
You can monitor each card's behavior with GPU-Z - see what's going on.

Hey guys, thank you for your replies!
Yeah, GPU Z did the job!
Turned out to be that the 3060 is using its fans all the time for 30% when 3060ti uses them only when needed.
BUT, 306ti fans are much louder.
BTW, is Nvidia a company that manufactures all the cards, or they just sell the technology to the other manufacturers?
I see Nvidia cards made by many different brands, how come?

Nvidia designs and makes (outsourced) all of the GPU chips, then makes some of the cards itself which are the reference cards, the rest of cards are from GPU chips sold out to companies like Asus, Gigabyte and MSI and made into a card by those companies

Aside, you can use software like afterburner to control the fan speeds if the noise is bothering you

@kesha1
Check how hot your 3060ti gets, then rev the fans down until it's both quiet and not very hot
