Slighty geared computer with win7x64 ultimate

been haveing a LOT of lag issues with TF@ and ARMA 2 and every other game out there with this rig

just wondering if win7 x64 ultament with 4 gigs of ddr2 ram with a ATI4870/4800 512 HD g card is enough to play games like MW2 and ARMA 2 and TF2... getting a shit ton of lag..... and i got roadrunner 15 mbps internet with an average ping of 19ms on servers in America and the EU
system spec's as follows
WIN7 x64 ultamate
Intel core 2 duo E8400 3.00GHz
4 gigs of DDR2 ram
Fox-Conn P45A01 motherboard
4870 HD 512mb gpu
and i got over 290gig left on my HD
15mbps internet.sometimes lol. 9EU servers ping at 19-31ms
21" acer LCD flat screen.
Teknomotion gaming Headphones.....their nice
can't even play Arma 2 on lowest. i have defragmented and done a boot time scan with Avast and everything.... and i get an all clear the HD and virus check.... wtf lol

your rig is fine for those games, maybe a virus and/or malware is your problem

I'm using a 4870 512mb and it runs most games fine,it beat Doms dual 9600's on just cause 2 Sorry Dom

Have you installed the latest drivers for your system? Video card, chipset, etc...

yes all driverrs AND chipsets are up to date

well i found the issues. it was the wmp.exe thing for my G15 keybord slideshow...AND wmp netwok exe. they took up about 75% of my proc's and 60% of my memory. disabled both of them. now i can play arma2 on max and its smooth as hell

I was about to say, try monitoring how much resources each service is taking and you might find the problem

your system is more then capable to play any game, it has to be something else that's causing it

yes it was Windows media slide show thing for my G15 keybord hogging up my resources and the windows network sharing procs


other things i have checked my g-card temp rns at 76C on balls to the walls mode. thats normal i think inside the computer is spottless. (dust buster) FTW. but i think the main thing is there is something else on Win7 x64 that is hogging up resources that i can't see

ldrivers wont not afect your gaming performance to say the least, it has to be something else
