Small help needed from M3A32-MVP + B3 Phenom users

ASUS M3A and M3A32 series boards have largely the same BIOS configuration layout (and the same LPCI/O chip). B3 Phenom(-nom-nom) chips don't need the "uCode Patch" that was used as a BIOS corrective for the TLB bug. However, the BIOS setup shows something in Advanced > CPU Configuration, where the grayed out portion displays CPU info. For an older K8 chip it used to show "Not Required" but after installing this B3 Phenom, that bit shows a hex value. So if you have a B3 Phenom running on a ASUS M3A or M3A32 series board, please go to the BIOS setup, > Advanced > CPU Configuration and look up the "uCode Patch Level" hex value and post it. I'm paranoid about the board applying the performance-crippling TLB patch for my B3 Phenom that doesn't require it. I've emailed ASUS support on this issue, they haven't released a BIOS since ver. 0805 (Apr 2008) and that was the first and only BIOS to add B3 Phenom support.

Also, I've set the K10 memory controller to Ganged mode, each time I start the machine, I get the "DIMMs Checksum failure" message with asking F1 to continue. What's with this?

Thanks in advance.

edit: mine shows 0x1000065 , is it the same with you?

this is good for asus m3a users

You could download AOD and there is a little button you click at the top, click it till it becomes red and apply that disables the tlb patch. Then check in the bios to see if anything has changed.

Edit: the latest bios is 1203 from asus's site.

The one below the close button? Yeah I clicked and it turned to red. Does that like make a BIOS-level setting or an OS level setting?

It's an OS level setting but doesn't do much for the B3's except maybe increase CPU temperatures by a few degrees. I played with this sometime ago and never noticed much of a difference in FPS or 3dmark scores(I don't play benchmarks but thought I'd throw that out there).

Bios from what I know because you don't have to load AOD every single time. Hope that helped if you run a benchmark try it with it on and then off and see if you notice a diffrence.

Edit: ^Then it is os level^

Which Phenom 9750 did you bought? 95 or 125W one? :)

ahh that's nice ;)

Can M3A32 + B3 Phenom owners please post what value their BIOS shows? Advanced > CPU Configuration > uCode Patch level ? (right above the Cool 'n' Quiet option)

One sec bta ill go into my bios and check.

Ok this is what i got 0x1000065.

Thanks, it's the same as mine. One or two more such values and we could assume it's normal. M3A32 s do just as well as MA790FX-DS5 boards with B3 chips, so 0x1000065 could mean it's normal.

Well it shows 0x1000065 for me as well. Is that good or bad?
