Benchmark Scores | i'm working on that |
so my access times are complete garbage, about 20-28ms. my average is 185 with a burst of about 345. i'm using two single plater 320Gb seagate barracuda drives 7200.11 on the nforce mediashield fakeraid controller. i don't feel like getting a proper raid controller so what should i do.
a. go with raid the overall thoroughput is better then single card even if the access time is junk or.
b. go single card, cpu usage is much lower, thorougput is above 120Mb/s the whole way and access time is about 11-13 average.....
i'd also like a walkthrough on how to install sata raid properly with vista sp1 32bit from scratch, maybe i'm doing something wrong. and a walkthrough for setting up jbod, i'm not to familiar with the bios/raid setup, i've always had raid 0 from day one just never really paid attention to it. i'm thinking i'll get better performance with singe drives over the two
also here's a few things to not explain as i know this
1. i know there is a risk of data loss.. i back up everything to a nas server so this is ok
2. i know nvraid sucks... please no bashing
3. i know these aren't wd velociraptors and the access time should be about 13-14.
4. i'm not a nub... well maybe i'm a nub, but i hide it well
also thouse who helped my g/f find an ssd for me for christams... thank you very much, she knows i read the thread at work eve though she was sure i didn't have the internet... lol i work in it of course i have the web.
