So if I have a laptop built with desktop parts-can I flash a desktop vbios to my GPU?

Can't figure this put? I have an Alienware Area51M and the version I bought(think I am literally the only person who bought it) Is a 9700K/1660ti. So the computer is a laptop built with desktop parts and was marketed as upgrdable but Dell lied and never made the upgrade parts(gpu). So it has a 360 watt ac adapter power supply and even with doing like AVX2 encoding the cpu can hit like 180 watts but thermal throttles regardless the GPU has a laptop limit of 80 watts for some bizarre reason when I have plenty of extra power and 1660ti laptop/desktop are same chipset and its a desktop z390 motherboard-and its not optmus or anything I install desktop drivers with optimus stripped in NVcleaninstall the Igpu does nothing(except thunderbolt port goes out when I disable it manually which is bizarre) so can I flash a 140 watt desktop Vbios to it? it's artificially crippled by Dell I mean in Games it hits 80 watts at only like 60 degrees. If anyone could help-very much appreciate it! Thank You!

NOPE, Don't bother flashing any gpu. It will brick.

Being a turing part they don't flash at all

The limits are put in place to keep people like you from damaging the hardware, and expecting a warranty repair

There are RTX 2070 and 2080 options for the R1 using DGFF. No you cannot flash desktop firmware.

Dell Graphics Form Factor. Designed specifically for the Area 51M lineup.
Oh more proprietary bs

@JD87
Now understand,

AMD RX Polaris and older AMD/ATi you can mod and crossflash.

RX VEGA-RX RDNA1 you can't mod but crossflash only.

RX-RDNA2 there is not enough data to know if they can be crossflashed.

rtx 2000 & 3000, gtx 1660 by nvidia, there is no modding or crossflashing the vbios on them. gtx 900 and older can be modded or crossflashed, gtx 1000 can be crossflashed only, not modded.

Mobiles (laptops and notebooks) are limited in cooling and the gpu is on the same pcb as the cpu, share 1 bios, cannot be flashed and shouldn't be, unless if you want a expensive paperweight/boat anchor.

You can thank the mining abuse for taking our ability to flash a gpu away.

Some exceptions apply, the Area 51M being one of them. Others made by Clevo (or associates XMG, Sager, AVA Direct, etc) also.

Thanks guys for your wisdom it is much appreciated! Mr. Air Force vet I was almost positive you can flash Turing cards with just same card type? Hence why I went into detail of the computer it’s a unique one and it’s a desktop part in a desktop motherboard basically with a laptop bios and I have plenty of power and cooling to spare for it so that’s why I was asking I didn’t mean to sound ignorant as the other gentlemen said it can take a desktop 2080 or 2070 and was the plan to buy one but Dell made like 5 of them literally and priced them absurdly high(hence got a class action lawsuit I believe). So I thought a flash of the same card just desktop Vbios could have maybe worked. I remember reading people were up in arms because Dell pushed out a firmware update that cut thw 2070/80 power cap from like 240 watts to 180 and I understand why they were mad it was supposed to be built to cool and handle desktop parts but anyways I won’t and thanks again everyone.
