i am wondering if anyone knows if such a thing exists. i would like to upgrade my motherboard and dont have the money to get a new cpu and vid card at the moment. i have a 478 prescott 3.2 (fast enough for me at the moment) and an agp card, i plan to go to pci-e in the future. 1 pci-e slot is plenty for me so please if anyone knows if this exists where could i get 1. like i said though i cant afford to change everything so i amhoping someone could help me

:o oops, I'm not much help - you want BOTH AGP and PCIx16 on the same board... I can't find anything!!! Sorry.

i couldn't find one, but sasqui, are those pci-ex slots or cnr like they're listed? i can't tell from the pics

if they are, then good find on seeing through the page listing info!

The ones I listed are all AGP actually... VIA makes the PT880 chipset that supports both AGP and some weird version of PCIx16 (it runs only in 4X mode - which is actually not really a big bottleneck).

The problem is it only supports LGA775 :ohwell:

there is no pci-e mobo that supports 478. there just arnt enough lanes to the cpu to spport it. im in the same situation as u, wanting to upgrade a 478 rig. either pay a lil more for a agp version or overhaul the system.

I bit the bullet (sort of) when I upgraded my 478 system - I bought the Abit AG8 (i915) specifically because it supports 775, PCIx16 and DDR (not DDR2), so I was able to re-use the memory at least. Sold the motherboard, R9700 and CPU on eBay. My only complaint with the AG8 is the 247 FSB limitation. Other than that, it's solid, solid, solid - and pretty fast at 3.7 Ghz.
