I woke up yesterday morning and my game (Rainbow Six: Siege) was suddenly stuttering. It is barely noticeable in Overwatch, but very bad in Siege. I spent all of yesterday troubleshooting; reinstalling the game, all of my drivers, updating windows to the newest version, and finally doing a full refresh of my Windows install.

Today, I have been running FurMark and noticed the stuttering happening very slightly in the FurMark GPU stress test as well. I don’t know what “normal” values are, so could someone analyze these attached results for any anomalies? I’d appreciate it. I took two different captures with alternating numbers.

Going on that data does not look like the GPU has any problems whatsoever.

I'd look into software before hardware here. Drivers, Windows updates, settings, etc. Perhaps an update was being completed between your last two boot ups? Is there any USB device that you hooked up between these sessions, or hooked up currently? That sort of thing.

I have been thinking something similar, especially because my Device Manager window is consistently refreshing every second (about the timing of the stuttering). I used USBLogView and couldn’t find any USB events (makes sense since only my headset, keyboard, and mouse are connected via USB). I guess I need to find a way to view event logs showing non-USB devices that are acting up.

Perhaps look into audio devices first, especially because audio and video outputs are related.

The issue is now solved after 16 hours of troubleshooting! Thanks for giving me the extra confidence to keep exploring software solutions.

Strangely enough, the solution was to turn off network discovery for my network. Just before having the issues, I had changed the settings from a Public network to a private network which enabled network discovery; this caused my issues.
