- Safe mode boots just fine.
----- I tried removing Google Chrome as suggested in an another internet post. I also removed all junkware I could find on the client's comp: registry cleaner, "game booster", etc. and it still wouldn't boot.

- Tried all different memory configurations. Laptop didn't like it when only using the top slot. Forgot to run memtest overnight.

The laptop inside was had to maneuver around last night so I didn't get a chance to reseat anything else but the RAM. Wanted to try reseating the CPU + thermalpaste, and check into it a little more, however I feel this maybe a software issue.

Client wasn't sure how the blue screen came to be. Trying not to reformat if I can help that. If it's a hardware issue, I'm very curious what it could be. Haven't had a chance to disable any settings in Bios.

The hardware is a: Lenovo Thinkpad T61p

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solution: Loaded bluescreenview in safemode and saw in the red-highlighted areas that in plaintext was a WLAN driver causing the grief. Uninstalled driver, rebooted normal mode, let win7 reinstall driver, rebooted again, and it loaded just fine! It can always be anything but bluescreenview made finding the solution that much easier/faster! Running prime95 stress test now to see if anything else is going on still.

We need a bugcheck. Use Bluescreenview for simplicity, to see what is causing the crash.
[IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL] can be a great many things.

Yep , probably the RAM , I would get the same BSOD when I was OCing the RAM on various PCs or when the timings where incorrect. Of course that might not be your case , but it definitely seems RAM related in my opinion.

Thanks everyone for swift replies. I totally forgot about that software bluescreenviewer!

I'll definitely do that. I thought it was ram related too!

This sounds a little like an issue with C2D laptop mobo issue. This will sound counter intuitive but boot up into safe mode and then bring up Device Manager and open up Processor and then right click and select Disable each of the processors and then boot normally into windows and see if it still crashes. If it does not crash any more then it is a bad resistor on the mobo that resides near the CPU on the mobo. This will make the laptop run pretty much full speed and I have had more than a few with this issue running years after this fix. Good luck!
PS the disable will NOT work in normal windows(it won't even show the disable option) only in SAFE MODE but stays active after booting windows normally.
PSS it takes all of 5 minutes to know for sure, so give it a go and see.

Here is a post that this work around worked on https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/laptop-gpu-overheating.224211/page-2

You mentioned wanting to repaste the CPU so i'm assuming you seen a heat issue as well.

Sorry I got driving for a sec there.

I DL'd bluescreenview and it turned out to be a network driver. Uninstalled it and rebooted, it loaded just fine. Restarted Windows 7 after it automatically installed said driver, and on reboot is loaded as normal with wifi and ethernet all just fine.

A simple fix but thankful for ALL of you and your extremely fast but informative replies. THANKS TO ALL!

Great news! Maybe you could add SOLVED to your thread title and add your fix to the original post?
