Hey all,
I do not know anything about sound cards. What are some good sound cards at around $60. Don't need the best, but something good for surround sound (5 speakers + base). Thanks.
Choices at your price range is the Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit and the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value. I own the SB Live 24 bit which has great sound for the price of ~30 dollars and it can have a 7.1 surround sound system installed. The Audigy 2 Value is around 60-70 dollars and it has more technlogical advantages over the Live 24bit. It also has the abilty to use a 7.1 system and (if I remember correctly) has EAX 4 which the Live! 24 bit edition does not and most modern games like EAX 4 for sound effects. To admit, I dont know alot about sound cards either.
Just get the Audigy 2 Value Edition since it has todays technologies used in games currently and it will last you a good year at a good price.
Well you def. kno more than me. I didnt even know that stuff. I am right now using onboard sound and I got a surround sound for x-mas. I noticed that unless I am facing where the noise is coming from, I wont be able to hear it (lol). So thats why I wanna get something that can do this.
