I am installing XP SP3 on a Sony Vaio VGN-NR160E, apparently downgrading from Vista to XP is a pain on this thing, I've had few problems but nothing major, except I can't get sound to work on this thing. I found the XP drivers here, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=197572, they all worked except sound. I suspect it might be because I'm using SP3. There were 2 files for sound, one was a "fix" named [Audio 1] kb888111xpsp2.exe, when I run it, it says Setup has detected that te Service Pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update. When I install the drivers, it seemingly completes normally and asks me to restart, but when I do there is no sound. In device manager I don't see anything that could be sound, except a PCI Device with a yellow exclaimation mark. Is there anyway to get sound working on XP SP3 on this laptop? I really don't want to have to reinstall using SP2 just for this one reason.

I think I need a kb888111.exe that works with SP3. Is there one?

Ah nevermind I got it working. I did a search for that file and there is a hacked version that works for SP3. Now the sound works. The only thing I can't seem to get working is the printer through the network here. Theres 2 or 3 routers and a lot of devices so I'm a bit confused. I'm just helping my boss out at work. Downgrading this laptop was a bitch, but its all done now.

Actually I could still use help with something else. What is that program called that allows you to change your taskbar? Ah Uxtheme. Can someone help me find a version that works on SP3?
