Is there a way to get some sort of speech recognition software for XP? I saw an article on Microsoft on how to get it to work, but it says I have to download the Windows Speech Engine or something like that and it's not available to download.

My grandma likes the idea of talking to her computer lol. She wants to dictate her stories because she has a hard time typing for a long time because she's got arthritis and all that.

Does she have Office XP? There is a voice Recognition built into that.

Well , I'm using the dictation software right now . It works pretty well but it's a little bit inaccurate . it's pretty cool I'm sure my grandmother will like it . I'm having a lot of fun with the myself , but I can get the voice commands to work . I'm not sure if I should say "computer start" or "computer control panel " or something else like that . but , the dictation is pretty cool but I need a better headset because this one is cheap.

(I am actually talking to type this lol....)
