i've been saving for quiet a bit to build a decent machine that would last me for a decent time. So far this is what im opting for:

CPU: q6600 G0
VGa:ATI 3870 x2 + 3870

Ram: x2 Transcent 4gb Kits
MoBo: ABIT IX38 quad GT
OS: vista premium OEM
H/S: thermalright 120 ultra extreme + aerocool xtremeturbine
Ram H/s: Thermaltake CL-R0026

case and PSu already bought.

Now im about to purchase the RAM, MoBo, OS, and Heatsinks.

any suggestions before i click "buy now" ?

PS

all is being bought at Newegg.

Buy the Q6600 from fitseries here in the FS forum. He's got it for $200.

If you like eye candy, get Vista Ultimate. And definitely get the 64-bit, or you won't even see half of that ram.

Get the Xigmatek S1283. It outperforms the Thermalright, in some cases by up to 20C (that's what they said - I can't confirm it, only they can)
