im looking for some advice from some networking pros here. i have 1 public IP address that my ISP provides me. my router is a typical one which assigns each host a IP. in the past, if i wanted a host to run a web service i would forward port 80 to that hosts IP address. it runs fine this way for some services. ive read about using static nat instead which seems to do the same thing. can anyone tell me what i am missing?
