Hey!
I was wondering - is it possible to play games on my laptop through my desktop? Sometimes I really want to enjoy the power of a desktop, with the comfort of a laptop. In the same or just next to the room from where the desktop is located. Both machines would be connected with a D-Link DIR 825(300Mb/s), the laptop is capable enough (i3 & 740M). The only thing that came in my mind is using remote desktop, which would be almost OK, except it renders the PC useless for other users.

Any suggestions? :)

Response times would go to hell in a hand basket for sure! Well unless your playing a card game or chess game but then you would be fine on your laptop.

In first person shooter or pretty much any shooter you would be shot before you even knew it. In car racing games you would have crashed before you had any idea you crashed. Not good.

Splashtop might be what you are looking for. From what I've seen it has the best latency, making gaming possible. I think it is free for personal use, so you can give it a shot and see.

Steam has the new home server beta out, I am going to try it with my laptop. From what I read it works well if the client has hardware acceleration and decoding.

Will try them all out and post the results, I doubt that I'm the only one wanting this functionality.
