Strix 4090 OC in P-Mode: Power Limit 90%

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum and I have registered here because I have a problem which seems to be unanswered, not even by ASUS technical support.

I have seen that this happens to several people, so it seems that I am not the only one, it is not a serious problem, but I would like to know why this happens, because it is quite annoying.

My Strix 4090 OC has DUAL BIOS. When I set the switch to P (Performance) mode, its BIOS is 500w-600. The thing is that when I turn on the PC and open GPU-Z, its Power Limit is always at 90%. I open MSI Afterburner, I see that it is at 90%, I hit the restore button and it magically goes to 100% (????). If MSI detects that this is its default Power Limit, why does it always start me with the Power Limit at 90%?

In Q Mode (Quiet) power Limit starts normal (100%) ~ 450w
The P Mode seems to be limited to 90% to also have a TDP of 450w, what I don't understand is why this happens?

Bug?
Faulty graphics card?

I have reinstalled Afterburner. Drivers, GeForce experience, but nothing works. Tomorrow I will try to format the pc.

Thanks in advance.

This is a BIOS bug that I encountered on all of my review samples.

The problem is that for some reason the default power will always be "450 W", and not whatever is the default that's set in the BIOS. You can work around it by clicking reset in Afterburner or similar tools, so that the defaults will be applied properly.

For a permanent fix you need to ask ASUS for an updated VBIOS. MSI and Colorful were able to send me an updated BIOS that resolves the issue, ASUS hasn't done so yet.

Let us know if you get a BIOS update

For the liquid X by chance? Or do you know if they have a public download?
Try msi support, and let us know please if they give you a new bios
