Ok so my computer is blue screening at windows loading screen, with normal start and last known gd config. On safe mode start it hangs at giveio.sys, then blue screens. I know this problem can come with speedfan etc 3rd party stuff.

Is there any way to disable it/delete it?

I have windows xp sp3. Can't use recovery console since bro has windows cd at his house a ways away. Can't hook up hard drive to another computer because none of them have sata(well 1 does but its been stripped of parts).

Any ideas?

Edit:this thread may have been general software not really sure, sorry.

Try this.

Start Safe mode command prompt. Navigate to the directory where the offending driver is and rename it. Reboot and see if any other ones are giving you problems and do the same to them.

Or, If you can't even get to the safe mode...

Make a boot cd or USB stick with file tools, dos and stuff. Boot to that and rename the offenders that way.

Ultimate Boot CD:http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Any good with DOS? Make a DOS USB stick or CD. Same process basically. Boot to it and rename the files.

FreeDOS here:http://www.freedos.org/freedos/files/

You can use a GUI interface w/ mouse and all:http://www.freedos.org/cgi-bin/lsm.cgi?mode=lsm&lsm=gui/opengem.lsm

Or, Use something like linux to boot and fix things.http://www.ubuntu.com/

Goodluck...:)
