Hello everyone.

Maybe I'm posting this in the wrong forum, as its less about mining and more about the aftermath...

Some time ago I was tasked with building a Chia mining PC for someone, but they gave up on that computer, and gave all the hardware back to me.
I'll repurpose the remaining hardware to make a decent gaming PC for a friend, its got a 3600X and 32GB of RAM. Just needs a decent GPU and a new SSD (despite the system reports, the SSDs have failed).

Its sure is a sight to behold

More storage = faster PC right? ;)

nice 10.9 tb drives.

You have no real gpu, so thats all you need. You could raid 0 those bad boys.

old Chia... It was definitely less than a year ago that Chia was somehow going to be the next big thing and it was touted as a green alternative to gpu mining (despite absolutely destroying HDD's for no good reason).

I still don't understand the end goal of the entire project besides some tinfoil hat conspiracy of HDD makers pushing demand.

I'm not sure I would trust any of those drives with any kind of important information at this point, not to mention they're all slower NAS drives.

Like all crypto: Making Money combined with a ponzi scheme.

crypto shenanigans aside (personal opinion but whatever ... )

try to find a 6700 XT or 6750 XT with that initial setup : golden (second hand is fine but be wary of "ooohhhh evil miner that resell bullied GPUs" )

it's what i use minus the "X" on the R5 3600 :D and 16gb ram less ;) (and i have yet to find a game that does not run fine maxed out @ 1440p or slightly optimized settings @ 1620p)

throw in a good 1/2tb SSD for starter (Sandisk Ultra are quite good as i've found recently ... and on the cheap side)

The 1st ryzen cpu I got was a 3600xt. Mom using it now. Monster powerful though in games.

Not sure why I got the xt its no different than x or normal it seems now.

It really only wrecked SSDs, HDDs could take it rather well.
