I have a crappy Technika 22" tv I'm currently using as a monitor. However, I don't have a remote control for it and its "zoomed" in. Anyone have any idea how to unzoom it? I've been through all menus on the tv to no avail.

Try going the menu options and find the reset to default option/reset to original settings.
Or, find a remote for your model.

Also, if you have a mobile phone with an IR blaster. Your handset may have an app which can grant you some control over the tv to some level. Some apps are pretty basic while some are more advanced and may show/give you the little sprocket/gear wheel icon that can allow you into the tv's settings menu -- This is one of the few reasons why i love IR blasters on mobile phones. Its old tech but its great for pranking your friends with and making them think their home is possessed by a ghost thats going around and randomly turning their hi-fi or tv equipment on and off.

Its also quite handy if youre house sitting for a friend/family member and have no idea where they put the tv remote.

also 1000x if you have a younger/older sibling that youre constantly fighting over the TV remote with - Your dad will probably break out the belt and beat the shit out of both of you but at least you'll always have a spare remote unless your dad takes your phone away.

Could underscan/overscan in video settings help?

I am not familiar with that, but usually looking up the manual online does the trick ;)

I know I have a folder full of manuals, just in case the manufacturer decides to retire documentation for EOLed products. It happens more than you think. Manuals can still be found online afterwards, but it's a bit a hassle I could do without.

Tried that already. My phone doesn't even go on the internet and the Mrs phone is a Galaxy A12 that doesn't have a ir blaster. As for the ghost thing I'd blame my Mum or Nan and Gramp, lol.

As for a younger sibling, I'm an only child and I'm 41. Did get the belt when I was younger though for being a little shit.

Tried that, no instruction for it. Although I have ordered a remote, I'm just impatient.;)

Where is that in Win 10 please?

Did that and no option for it.

I'm at work, so these tips will get you in the right direction....

I'd check resolution first

Thank you for your help, but its simply that my tv is zoomed in and I have no remote to unzoom.

Is there no "factory reset" option on that TV?

You can reset the EEPROM on Technika TV's by disconnecting the TV from the mains, then hold down the On/Off power button for 20 seconds, then switch it back on at the mains, power on at the TV and everything should be reset to factory defaults.

trying now...

Nope, didn't work. But thanks anyway.

Tried it 2nd time and held in standby button for twenty seconds, still no joy. If someone wants to donate me a monitor, I'll send them the video of me putting my fist through the piece of shit.

So I've had the control delivered and I STILL can't adjust the zoom level. If I adjust the aspect ratio, I can't see all the screen regardless. So how would I fix what must be overscan now?

Isn't that a refresh rate thing?

I've fixed it, kinda. I now have a resolution of 1850 X 1024. looks amazing...:banghead:

This is called overscan.

It can also occur in windows, and needs to be adjusted in the video cards graphics driver - intel and AMD both commonly enable it by default
hell the intel graphics in my server enables on displayport too, just because it feels like it

On the TV itself you need to set the aspect ratio to "just scan" or "1:1", some older TV's only work correctly on a single HDMI port - or none at all, and only on VGA

My garbage spare 24" HDTV here is 1366x768 and *only* works correctly on VGA.

Yeah, just never had this problem before. The only aspect ratios on the TV are 16:9 or 4:3. Only got one HDMI and VGA doesn't work at all.

We both need to be grateful we have all these things and think I've pissed off the Mrs by moaning about it so much, oops.:respect: I'm going to make do until I get a decent monitor and then just be happy.
Until I want a AMD 6600XT and 5700X...

What happened with your monitor?

Well... When I first got a pc (a dell pos off ebay) I punched the monitor during an argument and what I was using for a monitor before I blew up my PSU I punched into oblivion after getting a section 21 notice. I'm on medication now though so I don't punch things anymore, despite getting urges yesterday.

aspect ratio is funky because the early HDMI standards *REQUIRED* overscan so that pre-widescreen stuff got stretched to fit
Some devices just still do things that way, although its rare now

Have you checked your GPU's driver panel for it's overscan settings, and tried other connectors?

No coarse/fine adjustments?

I'm happy as it is now, don't want to mess about with it anymore.

Like I said to eidairaman1, it'll do as it is. I can play games, watch youtube and I tried VGA which is dead. But to everyone who tried to help, thank you very much.
