Temperatures a bit to big

I'm on my 1y.o laptop and the temps are going up to 97c, i got an Legion 5 15IMH05H, rtx 2060 that got a good temp even when hardcore gaming, but the intel 10300h its the problem, its locked and the bios does not have the option to unlock it so i cant undervolt it, can i change some options to tpl so i make the cpu not go that hot?
Btw the fans are cleaned, the heatsink is cleaned and the thermal paste is still liquid, and i checked to be correctly aplied.


the temps are at 90-97 at intensive gaming but the average is 93-94

Did you reapply the thermalpaste when you took it apart? If not it will likely have very bad contact...

Yes, i reapplied it, it took down 3-4c in the first day but now it has gone back up, maybe an improvement of 1-2c

Yell, it will blow out over time, especially at those temps.

Has it always gotten that hot, or is it a recent change ?

i have not used this laptop at gaming till now so i did not see bad temps, the temps outside gaming are really good at like 50 for both cpu and gpu on performance mode while using multiple tabs and other programs that are not that hard to run like discord and things

is it possible to check if the fan is spinning properly?

The fans seem to work fine, they are silent when doing light work and get louder when gaming

It's likely just how hot this cpu gets in this laptop - it's not uncommon for gaming laptops to thermal throttle - quite the oppersite.

You can you the throttlestop app to undervolt your cpu and alleviate the issue a bit.

Yes, that's why you wanna use the throttlestop app to do it, rather than going through the bios.

Ok, you just hadn't at any point mentioned that you had tried to do it through throttlestop

In that case there isn't really anything you can do about it, aside of getting a cooling pad you could put your laptop on top of.

But honestly the temp probably isn't limiting your performance that much, if at all. Have you monitored your cpus frequency during gaming ?

Doesn't really matter if it's mx2 or mx6... not like there is a 30c delta between the different pastes, unless it's literally toothpaste... lol

In the notebookcheck website review they don't mention overheating, so check the cooling solution again, I have a feeling there could be the culprit.

Use msi afterburner, and setup the overlay

They don't mention overheating, cause they are not testing for it... they are only testing the outside temp of the laptop...

And even if they did test for it, reaching 93c technically isn't overheating, as the cpu is allowed to reach 100c.

Way too hot for my taste, but very common with gaming laptops.

Edit : they have one screenshot where you can see the cpu is 88c during their testing. So fairly close to the temps op is getting.

i got hwinfo but its way to overwhelming for me lol
in lenovo vantage im on performance mode, the balanced does not make a difference to the temps i think, but i get more fps out of the performance mode
