Might This New-Concept Rotary Range Extender Fly?
There’s a new patent-pending rotary-engine concept that promises to combine turbine- and piston-engine advantages for greater efficiency. Read more here!

I recommend reading the Motor Trend article. It explains how it works. It's compact and simple, yet revolutionary so it's not easy to really explain. Suffice it to say, the idea is so novel and has so much potential that they got funding in a matter of days to build a prototype. If their prototype lives up to expectations, this could trigger a technological jump akin to external combustion -> internal combustion -> turbine.
Motor Trend said:In the computer, this 14 x 15 x 23-inch engine whirrs out 600 hp at 15,000 rpm and 1,000 lb-ft, achieving 80 percent thermal efficiency(!).
Motor Trend said:The number of parts is roughly equal to that of a one-cylinder lawnmower engine
