I'm trying to download the Oblivion mod Thieves Arsenal, which is recommended here http://aelius28.googlepages.com/home.

(By the way JC316, thank you and at the same time, shame on you!!! for sending me to that link! It's great, it has all these mods!!! But the links no longer work!! So I end up having to look up each one I want at various different places!!)

OK well back to the problem... that site recommends Thieves Arsenal, as well as Thieves Arsenal Mission Zero, which is an addon, which also has a patch.

I was able to download the Mission Zero and the patch, but I cannot find the place to download the original Thieves Arsenal. I've checked: http://home.comcast.net/~scruggsyw/Thieves_Arsenal.htm
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9655
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/
http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/
google...etc.

Anyway, am I missing something?? It shouldn't be so hard to find the original mod when the addon and patch are so readily available, but then it doesn't surprise me :).

Also, on the developer's site, it says that "If you wish to use mods that require OBSE (like Thieves Arsenal), you must launch the game with OBSE_Loader.exe instead of the Oblivion Launcher. Just double-click the .exe. in your Oblivion folder. Alternatively, use one of the many OBSE-aware launchers like Oblivion Mod Manager, OBSE Launcher, or OBSE-Compatible Oblivion Launcher." So... I have Oblivion Mod Manager, but NOT OBSE... will the Oblivion Mod Manager be enough to run this (once I find it...)?

Thanks all!!

Seems that you need to launch the game via the MOD manager... Obse has a launcher so that mods that require it work.. As for the above links I also fail for looking at what you need.. Its hard to find that mod... But I'll try to further google for you.

EDIT:
Btw I think it doesn't need the original, because it is the 2nd release which is an improved version of the 1st thieves mod... I read here

Installation

To install Thieves Arsenal, simply unzip the compressed archive into your Oblivion\Data folder. All files including meshes, textures, sounds, and icons will be placed into the appropriate subfolders. If asked to overwrite, click "Yes".

To uninstall, delete the following files and folders:

-Thieves Arsenal.esp

-Sound\fx\Thieves Arsenal\

-Sound\Voice\Thieves Arsenal.esp\

-Textures\Menus\Icons\Thieves Arsenal\

-Textures\Thieves Arsenal\

-Meshes\Thieves Arsenal\

Note: Thieves Arsenal requires Oblivion Script Extender v0009 or later. The most recent version of OBSE can be downloaded at http:\\www.obse.silverlock.org. Please install and run OBSE according to the simple instructions provided with the download.

If you are currently using a previous version of Thieves Arsenal, there is no need to start a new game or disable the mod before using this new version. However, to prevent potential weirdness, please do the following before installing:

- Save your game anywhere outside of Basso's shop.

- If you have recently knocked out an opponent, or if any opponent is currently searching for you, go to a safe location and rest for 24 hours, then save your game.

Thank you!! Yes, I do think it's got the basic in there too... I wish they would have been more clear that it is bundled with the update - it would have saved a LOT of time!! Thank you for checking. I appreciate it. :)

Any time :D I'm glad I've helped you :D enjoy... Gawd I wish I still had Oblivion installed, it's like a different game when the good modders keep content fresh via adding tons of stuff into the game.. :D Have fun!! :rockout:

LOL thanks, that mod looked good, but I think I messed it up big time, just because of all the mods!! ARG! I swear I read the readme's and installed all properly but alas, it's not working, but I am trying again. I will post another thread on it if I can't get it to work after re-installing lol!

Gud luck :D I think oblivion gets mixed up in someways if 1 or 2 mods were not compatible :D heh neway wasn't able to try newer mods though.
