#2: a little searching would show you in front of a mighty bios tool called ATiFlash*thunder*
where you must utter the magic words: atiflash -p -f 0 whatever-the-hell-you-called-your-bios.rom

all info found in aprox 2 minutes, never leaving the realm of techpowerup.com

So many ppl trying to pose their X1900XT 512MB cards for X1900XT 256MBs and screw u.

Thnx for helping to stop these sickos, good job!

anyone got a connect3d x1900xtx 256mb bios? will other bioses work from asus saphire etc?

Well the XTX versions don't come in 256MB as far as I know..
but I would think that another brand Bios would work as long as it is the similar PCB

i sure i saw a connect3d xtx at 256mb once on ebuyer i maybe wrong?

I googled it, and found some few mentions of a X1900XTX 256MB card
most of them foreign, but most notably Shuttle's Support pages http://global.shuttle.com/Support/SupportList.asp?Item=SN25P&ver=SN25P%20(FN25V1.x,V2.x
(scroll down to SN25P / VGA Support List) it seems that is the only "credible" site wich mentions it.. Connect3d.com has no mention of a 256mb version of the XTX on any of their pages (uk/us/ger/pol) and ATi's pages are vague mentioning Ram on their cards...

This makes me kind of curious to if there actually is a XTX 256mb version out there at all..
Though fun to have more affordable power, i can't say i see the likelyhood of there being a 256Version of the card since the XTX series are the "top of the line" cards (basically a overclocked XT card) So the possibility is there, but I cant say I see a market for it...

so since I can't find any info on a X1900XTX, I cannot say if you can use another Bios..
If you own one yourself, do you have a boxshot saying XTX 256MB or a tag on the Card itself or something? (guessing you cant display windows and therfore CCC on it, since it's most probably missing it's bios)
Can this be a rare, forgotten "big brother" of the XT 256mb?

If anyone else have information on the card / proof of it's existence please post..

and btw.. ALWAYS backup your VGA BIOS! 'cause if you flash a wrong Bios or have a bad flash on your VGA card, you'll always have the original settings backed up! or you might just be sitting with a unusable card until you get hold of someone with the same bios.

ps.. I had a Club3d x1900GT and a Sapphire x1900GT and flashed the Club3d card with the Sapphire bios, (back when I was toying with software crossfire (Cat. 6.7/6.8)) hoping for better compatability, but noticed no difference at all. so as long as it is the exact same card, brands won't have any differences..

I tried to save the bios with atitool but when I was saving it completly freeze my machine, the screen was grey with vertical columns:confused:

It saved a file, I dont know if its good but I edited it and it says "No power connector to vga" or something like that, dont know why cause I got a pci ex cord directly to the psu.

I have just purchased a ATI SaphireX1900xt with a stick on label on the box that says 256MB GDDR3 MEMORY
There are also stickers all over the card that clearly read 256mb. Oh ya almost forgot, this card is a PCI EXPRESS CARD.
