I can't seem to install the apu drivers in safe mode. I'm sorry for talking phone pictures, it's the only way to capture pictures.
Laptop specs below

64gb ram
4060 gpu
Windows 11

What is the full model number of that LOQ?

Can't use DDU?

No reason to use first party tools to uninstall, they don't do a good job of cleanup.

Im thinking to disable the nv gpu first

It's loq 15aph8

That's the model with a 4050 but I swapped the mobo out for 4060.
And from the factory the 15aph8 came with the 4060 as an option i presume

Yea, I checked the model in the bios and it's the same model number.

I just saw the specs on lenovo.

No I got it directly from AMD. I tried to update the apu drivers to the most current one.
Everything points to that amd driver released on 10/18/24.

It only shows 4050, not 4060 atleast US unless if you have a 16APH8 pcb now...

Ok it makes sense you have a 16APH8 pcb in the 15APH8 chassis

I don't think it's correctly listed on their website. I think the 4060 was really rare, I mostly see 4050 on ebay and Amazon.

I might have to do a fresh OS install. Everything was working fine with a two months old apu driver.

16APH8 has your particular cpu and 4060 so thats possible, anyways the driver for amd is the same across the 2, use their drivers on the lenovo page

It was the AMD drivers, I had to change to the Nvidia only gpu, download revo, delete everything AMD and install drivers from Lenovo.

Nice that you got it back in business.

Thats the thing with mobiles, the base driver is given to manufacturer but is customized for particular hardware on hand

I've never had issues with gpu updates directly from Nvidia. With AMD its different, I havent used anything mobile AMD products in about 10yrs. Last time I had driver and hardware issues so I swore off AMD until now with this APU.

Strange haven't had an issue with AMD in 10 years, desktop or mobile. Oh well.

That's because Nvidia doesn't make an APU. The driver contains chipset, audio, etc. also. When on mobile you always use drivers by the system manufacturer, because they mod them.

APU drivers pushed through Windows Update (win 10) bricked a friends laptop to the point of not even booting in safe mode. The only option was to not install GPU drivers and disable those updates with a third party program. This was a HP machine, around ... 2016, iirc. It was a one time thing but it was a sobering experience.

Never had issues with ndivia drivers. But I can't use the Nvidia gpu at work on a 100w charger.
