Trouble extracting Rar files

I keep getting that error, can anyone elaberate what it means?

try extracting it to the desktop and not just double ckicking on it.

Where is the .rar file? Looks like you have a segment of a RAR'ed file. You should just find the xxx.rar file, right-click, select "extract". Done.

... ive tried all of those i have it on my desktop and have tried jsut right clicking and selecting extract and also opening it, the .nfo comes out of the file, but the .exe does not

Well, from your first post the "Cannot execute blah, blah" looks like you're trying to "Run" the file instead of extract. Tried "Extract to"?

oh when i extract it nothing happens, no files appear.

I forgot to mention that, ive also tryed reinstalling winrar

BTW, have you tried to rename the extension .nfo to .txt and read what the instuctions are?

Do you even see the extraction process? The small box that show the progress of the extraction?

maybe it's actually extracting to a differnt location. Tried a search?

The box flashes for a split second, ive search for it no luck, nfo just says to unrar

Is it possible that there are more parts to this .RAR? When files are large, they usually get broken into smaller self-extracting .rar files that use redundancy to make sure the whole file get's unpacked.

I'd imaging UT3 would be pretty darn big. How big is the .rar you're opening?

make sure you are extracting it to the place your looking and not a default rar folder where they all go.

just to be sure, create a new folder on your desktop then drag the rar file onto it and drop it in. then open the "new folder" you created and then select "extract here"

if its not there after that then you have a bad or incomplete rar file and you will have to redownload it or another file containing the same exe file you want.

as a rule it is best to never download zip or rar files as they are often viruses so be carefull

im guessing hes looking for the no cd exe or he would be missing a lot more than just the exe

also when its done downloading it always asks to run/ open/ close tell it open and you will see all the files it contains so drag them to desktop and drop them there, then you can continue what you were doing

Yeah, never try to UNZIP or UNRAR from your TEMP files. Not fun...
