Hi Guys,
I am trying to build some older pc's. Something I can drop a fresh copy of win 10 on and move out the door. Not Gaming Rigs. Think more along the lines of something for school kids, or maybe for someone that just wants to check their email, maybe surf a little.
So I have several built, they boot!!
But I want to test my memory before I start downloading stuff.
So I have two questions based on a 2.5Ghz dual core intel processor with 4 gigs of ddr2 ram.
Q1) Trying to run memtest86 but it wont launch. The destructions say that it will only run on UEFI.
The BIOS has nothing about UEFI or Legacy in any of the sections. Can I assume it is Legacy and is there a Legacy version of memtest86?
Q2) Will it run Win 10? I have installed it on similar machines, at least I thought they were similar, but this UEFI thing has me flustered... EDIT: I have been doing research, I understand the difference now between BIOS and UEFI. The questions still remain. Searching for BIOS update now.
I know the requirements for win 10 are 1Ghz processor and 1 Ghz memory, so I think I have enough computer to run it. Along with a 500 GB HDD, I should be in business. Gotta find out before I drop $110 on a program I can't use.
TIA!
