Hi I was not sure where I should post this problem but a friend referred me to this site to see if you guys could help me with a problem of mine. I recently purchased a new laptop,

ASUS G72GX-RBBX05,

The laptop works fine most of the time, the only issue i am running into is when I go to play a game, If i have the laptop plugged into the adapter, my screen just flickers and it keeps switching between ac power and battery power. The strange thing is that it does not do it when I do not have it plugged in. I was just wondering if anyone knows what this issue might be or how to fix it. Thanks in advance

I should also note that the laptop did not come with the proper adapter, it is a generic one I do not know if that matters at all.

It could switch between AC and battery, if adapter is too weak, and constantly turns on/off because of overload. What is the wattage of the adapter?

I agree with Swamp Monster.

Your generic adapter probably isn't providing enough amperage.

have you tried release the battery and using only from power cord, does it still the same?
If its still the same, you need to check your adapter and your laptop adapter jack

g71 and g72 ac adapters are around 150-170w IIRC. most generic adapters don't even come close.Better pay attention to cooling, those laptops tend to die
