I want to underclock my GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 2080 Ti XTREME so it will be running 1650MHz instead of the stock default 1770MHz. I've tried to edit the "Core Clock"-curve (MSI Afterburner) and put down all the dots to the right (-120) but it seems that im missing something. Simply dragging the "Core Clock" doesn't work either. The boost seems to push it up to the same Boost MHz when im running Kombustor.

Is there anything else i need to change to achieve this?

The easiest way is:

_Reset everything, Go to V/F curve, select the point at 1650mhz and press CTRL+L, click apply on main window. Save to profile #2
_Click on Reset, save to profile #1

This way you can activate the 1650mhz underclock with profile #2 when needed and reset back to default with profile #1, you can go to Settings and set global hotkey to activate Profile.

Thanks for your reply! Didnt know you could lock it that way, seems like a a good option.

What I dont understand tho is this:

Why does it go all the way up to 2070MHz in Afterburner by default?

The boost table allows the GPU to increase its clock until it hits power/thermal limit, it's a way to maximize performance.
What is the reason you want to lock the frequency to 1650mhz?

Basically I want to decrease the temperature. I've tried to undervolt it to 1920MHz@920vV which seems stable but still getting high temperatures. It hits 85c on full load. I've also changed the termal paste and that did help so it wont throttle but its not enough. Im trying to get it to run av 70c-75c on full load and tbh I dont really need the stock OC thats on the GPU right now.

So if I understand it correctly I should simply just take the highest MHz shown and drag it down -120 (1770-1650) to underclock it and then lock it at the lowest possible and stable mV? Or can I solve it some other way by drag down the "Power Limit" that it set to 100% right now?

Also, when I look in GPU-Z its like this per default:

I want that to be shown as "1350MHz" and boost "1650MHz" but maybe thats not possible?

I just make a clip how to undervolt the easy way

You can try to undervolt to 850mV or 800mV to reduce GPU temp
For Core Clock (#1 step) you can put the overclock that your 2080Ti is stable at.

Thank you! I really appreciate it!
