Microsoft Store can effectively take a long walk off a short pier.

UniGetUI is pretty darn good graphical interface to get programs through winget or chocolatey but without having to keep searching on google for the link. Instead, you can simply search via the application itself.

Update packages, get listing of what you have installed and new versions, etc.

I don't use Windows anymore but this is incredibly cool (and sorely needed!). I'll have to trial this on my Windows work laptop. Is it capable of adopting non-package-manager installed apps and replacing them with a package-manager install?

Unsure entirely. Just started playing with this. Saw it and figured it was cool as it reminded me of the common linux distros and always loved that structure.

I had some issues for instance I was trying to download Intel XTU but it just wouldn't work. Also failed to update certain .net frameworks. So it isn't perfect, but it is far better than what we had before with just MS store.

This is actually kind of cool, ty for the headsup.

So I just tested it on my work laptop: it adopted and updated 55 packages. Some were winget, some manual installs. Only 2 updates failed. Pretty impressive :)

Do the screens attached to the first post open for anyone? Not loading over here even when I switch Ublock off :(

Looks interesting, WinGet is one of the few things that MS had created recently that IS actually unambiguously good and useful. Having a GUI for those who don’t want to or not inclined to work with the Terminal is nice.
