Hello guys, I recently bought 11 "rx 580's" that seem to be some kind of aliexpress frankenstein cards and I am unsure if they are actually 580's or some other weird gpu. The problem is that half of them wont post and the other half post (no apparent physical damage but they might have some kind of mining bios installed on them but idk how to check to confirm)but with normal rx 580 drivers they crash as soon as i run a benchmark test. The chip die serial number is 215-0910018 and i could not find any other information on the gpu itself so here are some pictures. I was wondering if any of you knew what bios i should flash on them or any drivers to use or anything that i could do to make them work properly

You bought mine abused cards is why they are failing

You will need to provide all 11 cards ram chip info please- that means getting pics of a ram chip from all 11 cards.

These are 2048sp cards

Yeah that's what i was wondering too but i found it weird that gpu-z wrote that it had 2304 shaders, here are the 11 pictures!

It looks like a wrong bios for this PCB. This is definitely not a Asus PCB when you compare the device name.

Some other bioses which you can try:

Look through these, make sure they have Hynix AJR memory

Alright thanks guys, I will report the results as soon as it's done!

If any still won't post or show artifacts, get money back on those as not working correctly or dead, do not tell anyone you reflashed the bios back to a stock version

Alright thanks! So little update : the gpus that did post are infact working, my dumb*** did not think about the psu which was the culprit here since i was using a gtx 1060 before so i guess the small difference in power draw was enough to make the gpu fail, the strange thing was that the cpu fans kept spinning and i read somewhere that when you overload a power supply it shuts off the whole pc. The non posting gpu's have still not been flashed and i dont know if there is a way to do so but i will keep looking at doing that but one blew a ceramic capacitor after plugging it in and powering it on so that's not the best sign lol (i plugged them all to separate the posting ones from the non posting ones)

The only way to try to flash a non posting gpu is to use an igp or have another card plugged in as the primary with monitor hooked up to it. The blown cap is a sign that 1 is done and will require a repair if not an extensive 1, that is why mining is abuse.

Make sure when flashing you make sure to only flash the 1 with the correct address (eg 0 is primary 1 is secondary) you want to flash the 1 and not the 0
