Hi all.
I have a system that is getting on a bit now, it's a Ryzen 7 1700X running in an Asus X470 Prime Pro motherboard. I want to update it a bit by getting a new CPU and will probably upgrade other parts of it in the future (I am still using an old GPU from 2013!! - just looking to change it now that prices and availability have become more reasonable). I have a question regarding a particular part of the upgrade, which I'm not sure if I'm just overthinking or if it could be an actual issue.
As part of installing Windows 11 I enabled the firmware TPM. I am not using Bitlocker, but I understand TPM and Secure Boot was mandatory for Windows 11 to run in all cases. Prior to changing over the CPU, do I need to do anything with regards to the fTPM (such as disable it or clear it somehow) or should it just work? I'm hoping to not have to re-install Windows or have it play up because of the upgrade. While I've built many systems over the years, I'm not that familiar with TPM's, and haven't been able to find much info in the searching I've done so far.
tldr I guess is will a CPU swap on a system using a firmware TPM cause any issues on a Windows 11 system.
Thanks
